Draft for review before launch. It describes how the app currently handles data.

What we store

Your email, display name, a hashed password, your learning settings (goal, daily goal, level, time zone) and your progress: completed lessons, XP, streaks, review cards, conversations with Bao and pronunciation scores.

Voice recordings

When you practise speaking, your recording is sent to our speech recognition provider (OpenAI) to transcribe it, compared with the expected sentence, and then discarded. We keep only the transcript and score.

AI providers

Conversation messages are processed by OpenAI to generate Bao’s replies. Example audio is generated with ElevenLabs or OpenAI and illustrations with fal.ai. Files are stored on Amazon Web Services and data in Supabase.

Your choices

You can delete your account and all associated progress at any time from your profile. It is removed immediately.
